Our
estate is a series of terraces with olive groves
and 13 acres of vineyards in Carmignano, just
a short distance west of Florence in Tuscany.
Carmignano is among the oldest wine producing
areas of the Medici family and in 1716 Cosimo
III de Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany traced
the boundaries of the Carmignano production
zone.
My
family purchased Le Farnete in 1990 and since
then I have lived by my belief: "no more
than one bottle of wine from each vine."
(Consulting enologist is Stefano Chioccioli)
Subtle
aromas of dried cherries and roasted coffee.
Medium-bodied, with ripe fruit and a vanilla
aftertaste. Better with some bottle age.
Carmignano
Riserva DOCG

80%
Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Serious
new-style Carmignano. Lovely aromas of dark
cherry, berry and licorice. Full-bodied and
very chewy, with lots of ripe tannins, new wood
and a vanilla, berry finish.
